THE NAME OF MY SCHOOL IS:

HISTORY
Following the visit of Mr. Roger Duke to the municipality in 1962, found that the town was going through a problem in education, have promised to seek an early solution. I have reached an agreement in which the municipality would be responsible of the lot for construction of the new school.
After many management tasks, effort and dedication, the physical plant was built in 1963 and It entered service in February 1964 under the name of Urban "Colombia Urban Girls School, under the direction of Mrs. Liliam Quintero Gómez. The first secretary was Dora Cataño to mid-90s, and teachers who previously acted as secretaries.
In the year 1991 it becomes a mixed school. In 1998 the plant was demolished to build a new one with more capacity and better conditions. It will transfer all staff to the former headquarters of night school, current headquarters of John Paul II Minor Seminary.
In 2002 the name was Changed to Colombia educational institution.


over the years the institution to had various names which have adapted to the policies of the institution and of course to students. the changes suffered by the name of the institution have been the following:

- colombia College.


MISSION
We are an educational institution with an official capacity within the Department of Antioquia, which aims to train students in Science, Joy and Respect, competent Desde learning to be, feel, learn and make, through educational processes that involve the educational community to enable them to transform their social environment, science and technology.

VISION
The Educational Institution Colombia intends, following 10 years, achieving graduates to lead social processes, production, business, cultural and administrative city of Girardot, on a full human education.

INSTITUTIONAL PHILOSOPHY

In 2008, the institution carried out a calling for a contest where students create lyrics for the institution anthem. The lyrics choice was difficult for administrators and teachers, and propose to the authors of the two best gather together to perform a single song lyrics. These students were Horacio León Ortega harness the students spoke person and Robinson Areiza Arenas, ninth grade student at that time.

English in our school classes
Some of us take only 3 hours of English per week, others colleagues are on a project in our municipality about English, which is called English park and ne, which forms a chain of English teaching and express with the body, in the 3 hours of English than most take take advantage of to the maximumbecause they it are two hours of English theoretical and practical and also acedemos to a platform called edmodo, in which we carry out practices as seen in class and on a topic related to the topic discussed.


We study English from first grade. In sixth grade, we begin to teach verbs in English, we espesamos to see the present, past and future in their different structures. Relative mind English started it sixth grade green, until today, we have learned a lot English some have large capacities in this área.

Class schedules
Elementary school day begins at 6: 00 a.m. sharp and the child primary sgen with three hours of study at 9: 00 a.m. come a reseso half an hour until 9: 30 a.m. and at 11: 45 pm sharp ends his day of study and employment of some teachers.
Secondary school day starts at 12: 00 p.m., in which we have a break of 30 minutes at 3: 00 p.m. and wings which ends 3: 30 P.M, after that went to receive 3 hours of class and wings 6: 30 we are ending our journey of study and teaching staff your workday.
The Teachers
The teachers of our school, meet or play various work in our daily live within this educational institution. One of them is to teach us and transmit their knowledge in the area in volved, another function is to ensure the security and the good name of the educational institution Colombia. Another work is guiding and advising students and be aware of their situation, as do our teachers and administrators.
